Shot blasting - painting

Some steel constructions require shot blasting before surface treatment. At Dansk Overflade Teknik A·S, shot blasting is carried out in a closed, automatic system according to the customer's roughness and pureness specifications. The shot blasting agent is collected and reused in the interest of the environment. After shot blasting, the steel construction is cleaned and painted.

Painting of wind turbines
Painting wind turbine blades requires great experience and thorough control in order to carry out the task properly. First, the blade is prepared thoroughly and this includes filling and grinding. While the painting process is being performed, online recording of all the parameters for controlling and documenting the job is carried out. This control (log book) is the customer's guarantee for checking that the job has been carried out in accordance with the specifications laid down as the basis of the surface treatment. In order to secure the quality further, DOT has prepared test programmes in co-operation with its customers. The paint protects the blade against the weather conditions, to which the wind turbine is exposed throughout the year. These conditions make heavy demands on the workmanship on which the surface treatment is based. The choice of colour and the decoration of the blade provide the wind turbine with a character of its own and increase its signal value.
