| The Danish company Dansk Overflade Teknik A·S is now represented on the Swedish marketDOT has taken over the companies JiWeGalv AB in Sölvesborg and Eskilstuna Galvan AB in Eskilstuna. The companies have been sold off from the Lindab concern, which specializes in ventilation and profiles. Lindab took over the companies in connection with a larger extension in 2000. JiWeGalv AB with its app. 80 employees and Eskilstuna Galvan AB with its app. 40 employees are mainly represented on the southern part of the Swedish market where the car industry is of great importance. With production plants in Fasterholt, Ferritslev, Middelfart and Koege DOT already possess a strong position on the Danish market, and the buying in Sweden is going to strengthen its position even further. By means of this buying, DOT expects to achieve an improved synergy in the entire concern concerning the sharing of knowledge like know-how, automation and product optimisation. Furthermore, the synergy within logistics is also going to be noticeable, as DOT through the past couple of years has been serving exactly the southern part of the Swedish market. The buying of the companies mentioned above is a natural continuation of the determined concern growth strategy. The buying is also a visible proof of the fact that DOT tries to obtain a larger degree of internationalisation. There is no doubt that the extension is going to have a positive effect on the other Danish locations within the areas of metallurgy and automation. In these areas the Swedish industry has proud traditions, which are shown through the research and development that is happening within the Swedish hot dip galvanizing trade.
